LOS ANGELES, CA (October 26, 2022) – Today, electronic music duo MILKBLOOD share their latest single, “WATER ME DOWN,” out now via Loud Robot/RCA Records. A slick house production, the single is driven by a pulsating beat and seductive vocals before kicking in with a jolting wave of synths throughout its chorus.
“WATER ME DOWN” marks the first single since the release of their EP, DREAM SLOW, earlier this summer. The six-track body of work is an exploratory collection of electronic and alt-rock influences, crafting a lush sonic soundscape that delves into the space between imagination and reality. In addition to collaborations with PVRIS and Bipolar Sunshine, DREAM SLOW also features the hit single “NO MIND,” which served as the end credits theme on the Tom Holland and Mark Wahlberg-led blockbuster Uncharted, as well as their breakout “DISCO CLOSURE,” which fans can hear on the FIFA 2023 official soundtrack.
A boundary-pushing experience told through innovative art, visuals, and more, MILKBLOOD tells the story of Case-Y, an alien that has escaped from the secret organization ZAR (Zeus Advanced Research), where the members of MILKBLOOD work as low-level employees. Through its one-of-a-kind experience, fans are invited into the world of Case-Y and MILKBLOOD as it unfolds, discovering how deep the mysteries around it go.
About MILKBLOOD
Crafted by musicians David “Kill Dave” Dahlquist and Pat Morrissey, alongside visual artist Mike Diva, MILKBLOOD is a pioneering multimedia project. The venture was spawned during the Covid-19 quarantines of 2020. David and Pat had spent their pre-pandemic years hunched over a mixing desk, establishing impressive careers writing for and producing the likes of SZA, Hayley Kiyoko, Weezer, Tom Morello, SAINt JHN, Miley Cyrus, and Jess Glynne. Self-isolation gave them the opportunity to dream and manifest with contemporaries like Dave’s brother Mike Diva, the only music video director (Lil Nas X, Run the Jewels, The Lonely Island) to ever make it on the Saturday Night Live team, and avant-garde horror artist Trevor Henderson, who designed the project’s front-creature Case-Y. They pooled their considerable skills in music, film, and art to build an esoteric universe expanding across digital and metaspace media. Utterly unique but relatable and poignant, the MILKBLOOD mythos combines the macabre modern horror of 1980s VHS video nasties with sharp contemporary commentary and a retro acid house ‘synthpunk’ look.
