[New York, NY – November 10, 2023] Today, the King of Afrobeats, Davido, swept the African and Global Music performance categories for the 2024 Grammy Award nominations, garnering three – Best African Music Performance (“UNAVAILABLE” feat. Musa Keys), Best Global Music Performance (“FEEL”) and Best Global Music Album (Timeless).
His now Grammy nominated 2023 album Timeless (out via Sony Music UK/RCA Records) holds the prestigious title of being the biggest African album in Apple Music history, captivating audiences worldwide with its first day streaming records and currently has garnered over 1 billion streams worldwide across all platforms. His hit single “UNAVAILABLE” feat. Musa Keys has amassed over 98 million streams on Spotify alone and in addition, he performed the single (and “FEEL”) on Colbert this year. Davido also recently sat down with Kelly Clarkson on The Kelly Clarkson Show and with ABC News Live Prime.
Davido made history by dominating Apple Music’s Global Daily Top 100 with a groundbreaking nine simultaneous African songs. Timeless also reached an extraordinary #2 position on Apple Music’s US Albums chart, making it the highest-charting African album to date. Timeless debuted at #2 on Billboard’s World Music chart, becoming Davido’s highest charting album. Additionally, all 17 tracks on the album charted on Billboard’s Afrobeat’s chart, with three of the tracks seeding top spots including “UNAVAILABLE” # 8, “Over Dem” #10 and “Feel” # 11.
