[New York, NY – May 3, 2024]— Today, GRAMMY® Award-winning, Oscar nominated, Lagos, Nigeria-based singer, songwriter, and producer Tems released the official music video for her latest single “Love Me JeJe” via RCA Records/Since ’93. Watch HERE.
“Love Me JeJe,” the first single off Tems’ highly anticipated debut studio album, Born In The Wild, has already garnered over 5.8 million streams worldwide since its release just last week.
The video, self directed by Tems, pays homage to her childhood and upbringing in Lagos, Nigeria. The stunning visual embodies the infectious, feel-good energy of her home and is a dance worthy summer anthem. The video also features Seyi Sodimu, who inspired the single as it features an interpolation of his Nigerian classic of the same name released in 1997.
Tems recently made her Coachella Music Festival debut, where she teased and performed “Love Me JeJe” during her set both weekends. Her performance was met with rave reviews, including the likes of Billboard who declared she delivered a “strikingdebutset … backed by a gorgeous outdoor setting on the stage that perfectly matched her warm, powerful voice.” Tems also surprised the crowd with special appearances from Justin Bieber and Wizkid to perform their smash hit “Essence” during weekend 1.
Ahead of her debut album release, Tems released 2 new songs “Me & U” and “Not An Angel,” notably marking her first full-length releases since her ‘If Orange Was A Place’ EP in 2021. Since its release, “Me & U” has amassed over 45 million streams. Both songs have also gone on to reach No.3 on Billboard’s U.S. Afrobeats Songs Chart. Tems was also recently honored with the Breakthrough Award at Billboard’s 2024 Women in Music Awards, where she delivered a stunning live performance of “Not An Angel” – watch HERE.
