FORTHCOMING ALBUM OCCASIONAL STONER
RELEASING FEBRUARY 14
LOS ANGELES, CA (November 15, 2024) – Today, alt singer-songwriter Eyedress releases his latest single, “Occasional Stoner,” out now via RCA Records. Listen HERE.
The lead single and title track from his forthcoming album, set for release on February 14, 2025, “Occasional Stoner” is a lo-fi, dreamy ode to those who smoke every now and then, inspired by and written for Eyedress’ wife, Elvia.
“‘Occasional Stoner’ is about my wife smoking weed whenever she’s going through a tough time,” says Eyedress. “I wrote the song around the time our son was diagnosed with autism. At first, it was really hard on us and we didn’t know what to do but eventually we came to terms with it and nowadays we’re so proud to be advocates for everyone that’s on the spectrum.”
Eyedress also teased new music from his upcoming album last month through his collaboration with Crap Eyewear. The release featured two new frames designed by Eyedress with promo set to the unreleased single, “A New Pair Of Eyes.”
When speak on the upcoming project, Eyedress noted, “I wanted to make sure it showed every side of me that was worth showing, even the vulnerable and embarrassing parts. Our goal was to make the essential Eyedress record. Little did I know in the beginning that I would be fortunate enough to work with some of my musical heroes. This record is for my family, friends, and my younger self. Hopefully it inspires someone to pick up an instrument and follow their dreams. It was made with lots of love and care.”
The news of his anticipated album caps off a busy year for Eyedress, who over the past twelve months dropped notable collaborations with Mac DeMarco and The Marías in addition to tapping Cuco, Rico Nasty, Buddy, DāM-FunK, Provoker, Bb trickz and more on his 34-track project, Vampire in Beverly Hills. In addition to supporting dates for Freddie Gibbs and Glass Animals, Eyedress also headlined his own run of shows and performed at various festivals including Austin City Limits, Head In The Clouds NYC, and Lollapalooza.
