Eem Triplin built a devoted following by sharing tuneful, playful, and authentic anthems about navigating life and love as a rising artist. Today, the 23-year-old artist shares “DUYA,” the latest single from MELODY OF A MEMORY. Produced by Eem, Dahi, 18YOMAN, and Charlie Myles, “DUYA” is both spritely and reflective, buoyed by propulsive 808s and pianos that bouncily pluck a jazzy progression. Aided by a choir of backup singers, Eem stops playing and asks his counterpart to do the same, making simple and direct requests to determine the extent of their affections: “Do ya, do ya, do you wanna dance with me alone?” Eem Triplin is featured on New Music Daily on Apple Music, ahead of next week’s album release.

Following equally accomplished singles like “MISS ME?” and “FIJI” ft. Cruza, “DUYA” is the latest tantalizing glimpse of MELODY OF A MEMORY, Eem’s upcoming debut album. Inspired by the artistry of Eem’s heroes, including Pharrell Williams, MELODY OF A MEMORY expands Eem’s sonic world, bringing lush instrumentation that perfectly complements Eem’s pleasant rasp and sticky melodies. While creating the album, Eem led a team of producers to shape the album’s engaging sound–producers on the album include the GRAMMY-winning Dahi (formerly DJ Dahi), who serves as the album’s executive producer, along with Matthew Castellanos and Charlie Myles. His official debut full-length after a long string of viral hits, Eem Triplin’s MELODY OF A MEMORY arrives on February 17th via RCA Records.

“It’s been a long time coming, but I hope fans know that I’ve been putting a lot of hard work into this album,” said Eem. “I’m excited for the people to finally hear what we’ve been cooking up over the past year or so while I’ve been in the studio with the homies Dahi, Matt, Charlie, and more. This project reveals parts of me that I haven’t shared before, and also shows a side of my sound that I haven’t shown folks yet. MELODY OF A MEMORY is the culmination of a year’s long rise from bedroom producer to budding rap star. Eem started his career producing for artists like $NOT, whose early support encouraged Eem to keep building his own world and attempt an artistic career of his own. He built a profile with viral hits like “AWKWARD FREESTYLE” and “JUST FRIENDS?,” each gaining tens of millions of streams across platforms. Eem released his debut EP, STILL PRETTY in Summer 2023, earning acclaim for songs like “WALKED IN” and “TELL ME IM RIGHT.”

Eem spent the intervening 18 months between STILL PRETTY and the imminent MELODY OF A MEMORY building a loyal fanbase, performing live as an opener for artists like Bryson Tiller, LUCKI and his good friend $NOT, showing out at festivals like Rolling Loud, and European fests like Clout Festival and Splash! Festival, and performing his first-ever headlining show in his small hometown of Johnstown, Pennsylvania. The Background:

Born and raised in Johnstown, Pennsylvania, a community of roughly 18,000 located near Pittsburgh, Eem started his career as a producer, creating and selling beats online, producing songs for artists like $NOT and T9ine, including the latter’s fan favorite tracks “BENZO” and “Revenge.” Eem’s success as a producer fueled his desire to become an artist in his own right. His career as an artist kicked into high gear when he shared “AWKWARD FREESTYLE,” a self-produced, personality-filled song that used elements of Tyler, The Creator’s 2013 song “Awkward.” The song quickly went viral, inspiring thousands of TikTok creations, generating millions of streams on all platforms, and eventually reaching the ears of Tyler himself, who gave the song his enthusiastic co-sign.

Since then, Eem scored follow-up hits like “JUST FRIENDS?” and “LOUIE V,” generated multiple viral moments at Rolling Loud Festival, and drew the attention of the Johnstown newspaper, The Tribune-Democrat, who profiled the local hero and captured his community’s excitement about his success.
