What was the first record you fell in love with?
“Bad Girls” by Donna Summer was the 1st 45 record I owned. I was 5 years old at the time so I’m guessing it had to do with the “Toot toot, hey, beep beep”.
What is the most important thing about your work at RCA?
There is nothing like an artist hearing their song on the radio for the 1st time and the feeling that comes with it.
What was a critical moment in music history for you?
Watching the 1st VMA’s. I was 10 and MTV was in its glory years. I was already hooked on pop music but that sealed the deal. I knew I wanted to do something in the music business.
Name a record that has had a significant impact on you.
Counting Crows “August and Everything After” instantly takes me back to college memories.
What live performance will you never forget?
I had been working at Jive Records for a few months and had to cover the 1st Backstreet Boys U.S. Tour date on the “Into The Millennium” tour. When they 1st appeared mid-air and rode to the stage on “hovering” surfboards, the screams were deafening and unlike anything I had ever heard. I knew at that moment this job was going to be a fun ride.
