Praise for Channel Tres:
“Channel Tres is walking into his pop icon era, and we are following him every step of the way. The producer, rapper, singer and all-around performer has grown from cool-scene favorite to breakout star, and his forthcoming Real Cultural Sh*t is his ticket to the top of the pops.”
– Billboard
“smooth-talking Compton native Channel Tres tinkers with his blend of West Coast rap and house music”
– The New Yorker
“While Channel Tres has been dubbed a house musician well before the radio and streaming services tuned back into the genre’s longstanding magic, he resists that simple categorization. He called upon the raunchy bounce of West Coast hip-hop perfected in his hometown and married it with house music’s Midwestern foundation to create a distinct blend he likes to call “Compton House. The technicolor world that he built for the genre is breathtaking.”
– PAPER
“One can’t help but feel cool while listening to buzzy Compton DJ Channel Tres’ suave and smooth dance music.”
– NYLON
“magnetic and impossible-to-categorize… sleek and catchy tracks definitely fit with his aesthetic”
– Stereogum
“his rhythmic, multi-genre blend has helped him make a name in vibrantly different circles worldwide”
– The Guardian
“Channel Tres’ marble-smooth baritone lulls you into a dance-floor hypnosis”
– KCRW
“What a Channel Tres EP, song or performance ultimately does is get you to dance. His specialty is providing you with the tools to get free by moving your body. There’s something inherently healing about movement, the reason it’s been so integral to his art and life for the last year”

(Los Angeles, CA) – February 24, 2023: Today, multi-hyphenate producer and singer Channel Tres releases his Real Cultural Sh*t EP on GODMODE/RCA Records. The 5-track body of work debuts three brand new tracks and presents some of Channel’s most authentic work yet while serving as a proper introduction to what he dubs as “Compton house.”
Channel Tres reflects – “This EP is about me reminiscing on different relationships I had with my friends back in the day. Being a grown-up now, some of those relationships I don’t get to have as closely as I want anymore. If I ever ran into any of those friends or called them on the phone we have words and slang that we use that only we know. I call that type of stuff ‘real cultural shit.’ It’s a statement about how I don’t have to please anybody, all I have to do is be myself, and everything will work out. As an artist, the things that make me unique are things that I was either insecure about or ashamed of, but those are the things that also shaped me into the person I am. It’s about loving yourself and that’s real cultural shit.”

About Channel Tres:
Channel Tres blends the drive of Detroit techno and the silky-smooth grooves of Chicago house with the snarl of West Coast rap. His music is no longer the little secret that dance DJs maybe had wished it would stay. He’s toured globally from major festivals to sold-out arenas and found fans in everyone from Elton John to Tyler, the Creator. For Channel, music is about reconnecting with his own history, whether it’s in his lyrics, or through the influences and musical history, he uncovers in his productions. His last EP “i can’t go outside” debuted in Spotify’s Top 10 US Album Debuts with features from Tyler the Creator and Tinashe.
