LOS ANGELES, CA (September 1, 2023) – Today, singer-songwriter Christian French releases his new EP, the space between, out now via Disruptor Records/RCA Records. Listen HERE.
A collection of six songs from Christian, the space between features recent singles including “bring u down,” “lonely,” and “thank god,” as well as two new releases – “sweatshirt” and “more of it.” Running the gamut of genre and sonic influences, the space between showcases Christian’s continued exploration of new sounds, creating a dynamic blend of guitar-driven tracks that span from indie rock, pop, folk, and more.
Accompanying the EP’s release is the music video for “more of it,” directed by Keenan O’Reilly (Goo Goo Dolls, Joshua Bassett). Watch HERE. Of the song’s inspiration, Christian says, “we all have that one thing – whether that’s a person, a religion or spirituality, a career, anything – that comes along at some point and saves us, completely changing the trajectory of our lives in an instant. ‘more of it’ is my expression of this moment.”
This fall, Christian will return to the road for the space between tour, his first major headlining tour since the pandemic. Spanning over 28 cities across North America, the tour will kick off September 6 in San Francisco with stops in Austin, New York, Toronto, Chicago, Denver, and more before culminating in Los Angeles on October 21. About Christian French
With over 332 million global streams and praise from TIME Magazine, Billboard, UPROXX, Ones To Watch, American Songwriter, and more under his belt, 26-year-old Christian French is one of today’s fastest-rising indie-pop stars. The Indiana native learned to play piano by watching YouTube and posting covers online, eventually going on to write music in college before chasing his dreams to Los Angeles. It was there in 2017, while sleeping on friends’ couches, that he penned his first single, “love ride,” which amassed over 33 million streams worldwide and set the tone for his bright future.
Touring nationwide with Chelsea Cutler and Quinn XCII, followed by his own headlining tour, Christian released a series of EPs including natural colors, bright side of the moon, and good things take time, followed by the singles “avalanche” and “OH WELL” in 2021, embodying a more confident sound that straddled pop and rock without losing the clarity of its predecessor. Over the past year, Christian has continued to further hone his sound and identity, learning how to play guitar and produce, in addition to expanding his fanbase through social media.
