(Mountain View, CA – June 27, 2023) Today, Emmy and Academy® Award-winning and five-time Grammy® Award-winning R&B artist H.E.R. and production partner Live Nation Urban announce the return of the “Lights On Festival” on Saturday, September 16 and Sunday, September 17. Now in its third iteration, the festival will be all general admission as it moves to the festival grounds at the iconic Shoreline Amphitheater in Mountain View, CA for the first time after selling out in 2019 and 2021. Pre-sales go live Thursday, June 29 at 12pm PT. All presales end on Thursday, June 29 at 10pm PT and general on-sale launches Friday, June 30 at 12pm PT. Tickets will be available HERE.
This year, GRAMMY® Award-winning R&B powerhouse Jazmine Sullivan headlines the first night September 16, while a special H.E.R. & Friends set concludes the festival on September 17. The expansive lineup notably features Don Toliver, Alina Baraz, PARTYNEXTDOOR, Doechii, DVSN, and many more.
Once again, “Lights On Festival” delivers the ultimate R&B experience in the Bay Area with full cultural and musical immersion unlike anything else all year.
“I’m so excited ‘Lights On Fest’ will be making its return,” H.E.R. says, “It’s my favorite way to wind down the summer by having two days filled with great R&B music. I am so proud to reveal the extraordinary talent we have on the bill this year and can’t wait for everyone to see what’s to come!”
See the full confirmed lineup below.
Following its introduction in 2019, H.E.R.’s “Lights On Festival” made history as the first female-owned and curated festival in decades. A Bay Area native herself, H.E.R. aims to celebrate a genre-rich roster of artists from her hometown and beyond. More than just music, it boasted other attractions such as a film screening tent, live art installations, R&B Museum, Guitar Lounge, and a massive arcade.
In 2021, the festival brought in 13K fans each day to the Concord Pavilion and incited glowing critical applause from several publications including KQED (NPR) that said, “the event brought an unmistakably joyful mood” and the San Francisco Chronicle that raved, “H.E.R.’s Lights On Festival shows that R&B…can’t be stopped.” Perhaps Vibe said it best, “nothing could compare to the all-encompassing, magnetic aura felt as I walked through the festival grounds.”

ABOUT H.E.R.
Over the course of five years – with 25 GRAMMY nominations and 5 wins to date, an Academy Award and an Emmy – singer/songwriter/multi-instrumentalist H.E.R. has had an incredible journey, punctuated with inspiring projects and accolades that have quickly ascended her to superstar status.
H.E.R.’s 2016 debut EP, “H.E.R. Volume 1” was met with critical acclaim, as the world was just beginning to learn about this teenage wunderkind. “H.E.R. Volume 2” arrived a year later and reached the Top 10 Billboard R&B charts. H.E.R.’s eponymous compilation project in 2017 marked a whole new era for the artist in a short amount of time. The GRAMMY Award winning, RIAA-certified Platinum body of work topped the Billboard R&B charts, armed with hit singles like the Platinum “Focus” and the four times Platinum “Best Part” with Daniel Caesar.
In 2019, H.E.R. and producer partner Live Nation Urban introduced the Lights On Festival, the first female-owned and curated R&B music festival in decades. Additionally, H.E.R. kicked off 2021 in the most stellar of ways by winning two GRAMMY Awards – Song of the Year for “I Can’t Breathe” and Best R&B Song for her contribution to Robert Glasper’s “Better Than I Imagined,” plus an Academy Award for her powerful song “Fight For You” from the Warner Bros. Pictures film Judas and the Black Messiah.
Regarded as one of music’s most admired and respected musicians at only 26-years-old, H.E.R. also added acting to her resume when she starred as Belle in ABC’s “Beauty and the Beast Live” in December 2022 and will join the all-star cast of “The Color Purple” musical film adaptation as “Squeak” December 25, 2023.
