TOURING WITH ROLE MODEL IN 2025
LOS ANGELES, CA (December 6, 2024) – Today, rising singer-songwriter Debbii Dawson reveals her new single, “The Great Magician,” out now via RCA Records. Listen HERE.
With shimmering production and Debbii’s signature, effervescent vocals, “The Great Magician” caps off Debbii’s breakout year and sets up the artist to watch for an exciting 2025. The song’s slick fusion of modern yet nostalgic musical influences tees up Debbii’s next era and sonic direction.
“This song centers around a magician that pulled off the greatest feat ever performed but no one was around to witness it,” says Debbii of the single. “My first two projects detailed the life of a recluse, in my latest single I wanted to capture the very moment the vanishing act occurred. Continued themes of loneliness, isolation and the comfort that can be found in it are present beneath the surface”
Signing to RCA Records earlier this year, Debbii debuted her sophomore effort, How To Be Human, this past June. Featuring the singles “Happy World” and “Turn The TV On,” How To Be Human served as a five-track journey through the singer’s psyche, navigating through Debbii’s feelings of solitude, self-isolation and escapism. Last month she followed suit with the playful “Walla Walla,” an ode to feeling misunderstood wrapped in bubbly, retro pop production.
Debbii has also been on the road this year supporting artists like Suki Waterhouse and Orville Peck, the latter of which she also collaborated with on his Stampede duets album. Next year she will join Role Model for the North American leg of his ‘No Place Like Tour’ run, kicking off on February 24 in Phoenix and culminating on April 10 in Seattle, with stops in Los Angeles, Chicago, Toronto, Brooklyn, and more along the way. About Debbii Dawson
Debbii Dawson has captivated audiences through her unassuming demeanor and soft voice, setting the stage for her exceptional vocal ability and musicality that pushes boundaries. A first-generation American raised in the rural Midwest, her musical legacy is rooted in her family history. Her grandfather in India taught himself to play the organ by drawing a keyboard on the ground with charcoal and passed that skill set to Debbii’s father, who then taught her. She grew up traveling with her parents as they toured the United States and internationally as performers.
Through her artistic journey, she has created a playful, imaginative world of her own making, crafting a fusion of modern pop with timeless influences of decades past. After releasing her debut EP in 2023 followed by her sophomore effort in 2024, Debbii continues to leave her mark through the records she creates. A fresh and exciting new voice with more music set throughout the coming months, Debbii continues to expand and solidify her intriguing world and invites audiences to join her along the way.
