NOMINATED FOR 2017 NAACP IMAGE AWARD® FOR OUTSTANDING NEW ARTIST
[New York, NY – December 15, 2016] On the heels of receiving his first ever Grammy nomination for Best R&B Performance for his hit single, “Permission,” ByStorm Entertainment/RCA Records recording artist Ro James announces his headlining “XIX” Tour. The 23-city tour will kick off on February 3, 2017, stopping in major cities across the US including Los Angeles, New York, Philadelphia and more. On February 14th, James will perform a special Valentine’s Day show in Detroit with Joe, Chrisette and Vivan Greene. Tickets and VIP packages will be available for purchase at 10 am local time on Friday, December 16, 2016 at http://RoJamesXIX.com/. Click here to watch the Ro James “XIX Tour” trailer.
After touring with Maxwell and Mary J. Blige on their “King + Queen of Hearts” World Tour this fall, the “XIX” tour comes in support of Ro James’ debut album, ELDORADO. ELDORADO features James’ sultry hit single, “Permission,” which held the #1 spot on the Billboard Urban Adult Contemporary Songs chart for 9 weeks and is described by Complexas a “…lustily, respectfully intimate jam.” Solange’s Saint Heron declares, “[‘Permission’] captures the fervent tenacity of Ro’s voice, while still captivating listeners with its undemanding sex appeal to create a sound that is easily winsome.” The track was also included on Billboard’s “10 Best R&B Songs of 2016: Critic’s Picks.”
James also recently stopped by the NPR offices to deliver a powerful and soulful performance on NPR’s Tiny Desk Concert Series. James performed his sultry “Permission,” his second single “Already Knew That” and “A.D.I.D.A.S,” from ELDORADO which NPR describes as “… a hazy ride that explores love, lust and other vices without the lovey-dovey clichés. The album always feels current, even as his slick wordplay and acoustic vibe could easily slide it into a ’70s or ’90s hit list.” Last month, James delivered an upbeat and exciting performance of “Already Knew That and “Permission” on the 2016 Soul Train Awards, where he also received a nomination for Best New Artist.
