Ruger shows no signs of stopping as The Second Wave Deluxe EP, follows swiftly on from its predecessor Second Wave EP, which spawned the gigantic hit single ‘Dior.’ The track peaked at #1 across Africa in Nigeria, South Africa, Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, Sierra Leone, Gambia, Ghana, Zimbabwe, Malawi, Namibia, Liberia Gambia, Chad and Seychelles. firmly establishing Ruger as one the hottest artists to watch coming out of the continent right now. Ruger has been nonstop since arriving on the scene, earning himself over 100 million streams since his debut.
In just over a year Ruger’s arrival on to the music scene has been huge. He was included in Vogue’s ‘22 musicians to watch for in 2022’ and has co-signs from the likes of Davido, Don Jazzy, Popcaan, Burna Boy and more. Ruger has become one of the new hottest names in afrobeats and is currently touring globally. His breakout single “Bounce” was recently nominated for ‘Best Afrobeats Single’ in this year’s Headies Awards.

More about Ruger: 22-year-old Lagosian Ruger has spent the past few years developing his artistry, with the guidance of the Jonzing World musical incubator. Working with producer KukBeats helped him hone in on his self-described “crazy, energetic and real” Afro-Dancehall sound. RUGER drawsreference from a childhood filled with a breadth of musical influences including 2Face, Gyptian, Bob Marley and Sunday’s spent drumming and singing in his Church choir.
