The Video:
He’s a founding father of Brooklyn’s drill movement, but Sheff G has never been one to rest on his laurels. Today, the 26-year-old artist shares “Brokey,” a new single and music video, striking a devastating blow against those praying on his downfall. Produced by his frequent collaborator Great John, “Brokey” rides swelling strings, sliding 808s, and thunderous drill percussion, providing the perfect backdrop for Sheff’s victory lap. Working his signature sing-song cadence, the East Flatbush native declares his loyalty to his friends and challenges the rest of the rap game to get on his level, as his whispered ad-libs urge him on. In the video, Sheff tours his city like royalty, drawing a crowd wherever he goes and drawing beautiful women into his Rolls Royce.
“Brokey” is Sheff’s first new release since the November 2024 drop of Proud of Myself, his latest album. A testament to the Winners Circle CEO’s enduring legacy and continued influence in the drill genre, the 15-track project finds the NY rapper experimenting with new sounds while still delivering the high-energy anthems he’s known for. The album is home to singles like “Never Again,” a sexy drill banger featuring Lil Tecca, “Yes Freestyle,” a collab track with Sheff’s frequent running mate Sleepy Hallow, that the duo performed “On The Radar” shortly after Sheff’s release from prison, and the triumphant homecoming anthem “Everything Lit.” Sheff performed songs from the album at Winners Fest, which a who’s who of NYC rappers, including Cash Cobain, Fivio Foreign, 41, Chow Lee, wolfacejoeyy, and others. Featuring additional appearances from Polo G, YNW BSlime, and Sheff’s Winners Circle associate Fresh G, Proud Of Myself is available everywhere via Winners Circle Ent. / RCA Records.
A pioneer of his home borough’s drill explosion, Sheff G first began making music while he was still in high school. He quickly garnered buzz with his debut track “4 Them Racks”, a release that led to his 2017 breakout moment with explosive underground hit “No Suburban.” A strong run of releases followed, including his critically-acclaimed debut album One and Only, as he ascended through the genre’s ranks, collaborating with fellow rap mainstays A Boogie Wit da Hoodie (“Run It Up”), King Von (“PICASSO”), Eli Fross (“ISO”), Polo G (“On Go”), and Fivio Foreign (“Waiting”), racking up millions of streams and video views, including 6 RIAA-certified Gold Records and a Platinum Record, in the process.
Now at just 26 years old, Sheff G is already paying the way forward for the next generation of artists alongside longtime friend and collaborator Sleepy Hallow, with whom he co-founded independent label Winners Circle Entertainment. A community-oriented artist to the core, Sheff G is also dialed-in with his non-profit organization Love On Life Foundation, which he founded while still behind bars to address mental health and income disparities in his community. “Now we can sign other artists and give people opportunities to feed their families also,” he explains.
With Proud Of Myself in the rearview and much more music to come, Sheff G is making up for lost time. Stay tuned for much more from the Brooklyn drill pioneer soon.
