A Mix Of Classic Holiday Covers and Hayes Originals
Nashville, TN – Monument and RCA Records singer/songwriter Walker Hayes releases brand new holiday project Christmas Vacation. The five-song project of classic holiday covers and Hayes originals is out Today.
Last year Hayes released “Fancy Like Christmas,” his first foray into holiday music. The song, which was a play on the original “Fancy Like” that gave Hayes a GRAMMY nomination and the number one country song in the country for six months, was among the top 10 highest streaming country holiday singles of the year.
Hayes had so much fun with the song over the holiday season, debuting the track on The TODAY Show, shooting a video the whole family was a part of, and visiting with radio folks like Delilah, that he decided to double down this year with a five-song project, consisting of both classic holiday cover songs and Hayes originals.
Fans got a first taste of what was to come on Christmas Vacation with his cover of “Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas,” out last week. The song finds Hayes in far more classic form then his audience may be used to, showing his vocal chops while singing the holiday favorite accompanied by a piano and strings.
On Christmas Vacation, fans can expect to hear Hayes’ classic turn of phrase on songs like the title track, “Christmas Vacation,” as well as some very special guests in the form of his two youngest daughters on backing vocals on his cover of “Let It Be Christmas.” .
