[New York, NY – May 6, 2022] Today, Dominican-Italian songstress, YEИDRY, releases Dominican dembow-inspired single + video “KI-KI” via Sony Music Latin/RCA Records. The track, unlike any other song YEИDRY has released, is a mix of styles, cultures and languages which reflects her very essence and is a reminder not to take things too seriously. The term “ki ki” is an abbreviation of “Juaniquiqui” which in Dominican slang refers to money.
“The song is about how being independent and making money requires hard work, so most of the time we’re not free to just enjoy life, our families and friends. It’s good to make ourselves unavailable in order to take care of us and celebrate life,” emphasizes YEИDRY.
Watch “KI-KI” HERE.
The striking visuals were directed by YEИDRY, Christopher Hesketh, Becky Hern, and choreographed by Simrin Player (Justin Bieber, Shakira). The video opens with an unapologetic and carefree YEИDRY who we see blocking incoming calls while allowing herself to sit back and enjoy her life. The visuals then follow her as she dances on the street letting go of the pressures that come with being a hard-working woman.
Up next, YEИDRY will embark on a Soho House Rising / “KI-KI” Launch Tour with its first stop in Berlin on May 9th followed by Amsterdam(5/11), Barcelona (5/13), Rome (5/14), Paris (5/19), Tel Aviv (5/25) and Istanbul (5/28). She is also set to perform at Afropunk in Miami, FL(5/20-22) and at LETS GET FR.EE festival in Queens, NY (8/20-21).
